Showing up
One personal goal that I have been chasing for some time is consistency. I have always suffered from being inconsistent — hopping jobs, changing interests, unfinished side projects.
Recently I finally internalized this concept.
What changed? A very normal morning at swimming. I started learning swimming earlier this year. For over a month I was not able to correctly learn breathing. But I still showed up, every morning. Even on those bad days where I had no motivation to. And then one fine day, something clicked. I found the rhythm and could swim about 25meters that day. I remember on my way back I felt liberated and it became a core memory.
Now this has become one of those principles that I swear by — I need to show up, everyday, no matter what. I need to put in the work.
